Story

I have been piecing comforter tops for the Hanover WMSC for years and have pieced 808. These are all knotted at our monthly meetings by women and men. I have also made quilts for our four children, eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. These are all quilted by Lena Martin.
When I came across a different design in the paper or a magazine I make one similar. I also make my own patterns so they are not identical in size or shape to the pictures.
The one I am donating was from a picture in the KW Record. It was the top quilt a the Relief Sale and fetched $11,00.00. The quilt was called "A Bird's Eye View" and is an interpretation of Carl Hiebert's photographs of Waterloo Region.
The quilt was just another one for a great grandchild. Then when it was finished people were admiring it so much I decided I would donate it to the sale.
The main top is made of left overs from previous projects. The Bear Paw blocks are the same design as in the picture in KW Record but different a color scheme
