With summer quickly becoming a memory, we move our thoughts to falling leaves, pumpkin pie and, this year, the Fall NHMRS Auction!

Encouraged by the success of the Spring into Auction online quilt sale (held on May 30th, the original day of the sale), during which participants helped raise over $85,000 for MCC (not to mention the record-breaking virtual Run for Relief), we’ve decided to hold another online auction on October 17th. The fall online auction will have additional quilts, 2 restored tractors, as well as a number of other valuable items.

Stay tuned to this page and our social media sites as we post auction offerings!

Please know how grateful we are for your ongoing support of the New Hamburg Mennonite Relief Sale. We have been very encouraged as we learn about groups who would have attended or volunteered at the sale, but instead have found additional opportunities to raise money for MCC. Thank you for joining us on this journey of finding new ways to support MCC during a global pandemic.

Louise has been sewing vibrant colours into her quilts for over 25 years.

Her friends encouraged her to put a quilt into the New Hamburg Relief Sale 16 years ago, a small crib quilt. That quilt raised about $300 for the Mennonite Central Committee and Louise has had a quilt in the Relief Sale every year since.

This year’s quilt, “Fire Island Hosta Queen”, is a very special one. “I wanted it to be a significant quilt,” Louise explains. “It’s the centennial year for MCC and I wanted to honour that by making something really special.”
