Appliqued & pieced

An accomplished quilter, my mother, Elma Snider cut and pieced these stars. After her diagnosis of Parkinson's disease she put away her quilting projects. Only in 2013, did I begin to appliqué the stars to background blocks. Our WMCEC was asked to complete the quilt. At the time, Eeileen Helmuth was undergoing cancer treatment but joined our shopping group to choose the sashing fabric. She was able to put in a few stitches before she passed away. WMCEC and friends later completed the quilt.
