Story

This is my tenth year creating quilts for MCC. I've wanted to do something really special to mark the occasion but I was not sure what. Should I go traditional? Modern? Pieced? Appliqued? Embroidered? For a while I was stumped. During this time three things happened: I got a job as a children's librarian, I read "Quilting Improv" by Lucie Summers and I saw a bunch of book quilts on Pintrest. The three things combined to create this quilt. I love the whimsy of the books and how they are kept from going over the top by the blocks. It's a little traditional and a little modern, held in balance.
