Story

This quilt started as an unfinished project, purchased at the New Hamburg Thrift Center. It was in 2 pieces - pillow sham and 54" x 63" pieced piece; possibly planned for a twin sized quilt by an anonymous sewer.

I took apart the pillow sham (which was 5 tulips) and used those pieces to create sides and top of quilt. I thought it would be fun to make the quilt into a "garden" by creating a fence and gate entrance which then transformed it into a full sized quilt. And since I'm a gardener with lots of perennial gardens, I had to quilt lots of random sizes of foliage throughout the garden to represent how much work is needed in spring to "tame" the garden bed for the rest of the season!
