Pieced

The fabric patches inside the window box patterns were purchased on a 2006 trip to Australia and New Zealand. Traveling to Australia had been a life-time dream, since it seemed to me that this was the most distant place it was possible to travel to. It turned out to be the last major trip that my husband, (Marv Frey) and I took together, since the next year he was diagnosed with a terminal brain cancer. On this trip we stopped at many fabric shops along the way. Our first grand-daughter had been born just months before and I wanted to make an "I Spy" quilt for her. Most of the fabrics were based on fauna and flora of these two countries. Now, as I look at these fabrics, they bring back to my memory places of spectacular beauty.
