Pieced

I started with a piece of fabric that had the farm motifs. Then I made a farm yard using 9 patch blocks. They are similar but not the same. It reminded me of my childhood. Every farm on our road had some similar elements but was individual. The next step was deciding on how to connect them. Again the road came to mind. The gravel road, the farmers fields with different crops, a wood lot at the back. My fabric stash yielded fabric colours that matched the farm motifs. I just built the quilt around the farm yards. This is one of the first quilts I made using my long arm machine. I am pleased with the end result. Just like a farmer at harvest, you can stand back and feel good about the work that was done.
