Appliqued & pieced
This quilt was the result of 9 participants from the Durham Trillium Quilt Guild holding a challenge in which a large tin can was given to each member. The tin can contained a yard of fabric and had a "theme". This quilts theme was "four patch". Participants were to make a block using the theme and fabric each month and then for the next 9 months the tins were rotated to the next member. At the final rotation the participant was to design a quilt which was then displayed at the Durham Trillium Quilt show in Oct/10. My theme fabric was the navy blue leaf print. In order to arrange the blocks into this quilt I needed to re-sew some of the simpler four patches to fit, as well I added the appliquéd words to show the friendships that form through quilting.
