Appliqued & pieced

Erma made this quilt top in 1948 using a new sewing machine that she bought. After finishing it, she did not like the way it looked with the flannelette sheet she has used for a filler. So she took it all apart and replaced the sheet with batting and re-quilted it and bound it again.
